There were 5 artesian and 7 drain wells, as well as water tower connected to computerized control system of the Balvu city. Central operators' console- computerized controlling system is located in the office facilities of PUBO "SAN - TEX" (organization that performs service of the Balvu city municipal sector). Exchange of information between central operator console and wells is ensured via radio modem and controller.
Operator control point consists of the radio modem, computer, printer and automatic control terminal, where Siemens Simatic S7-314 controller is located. Duplicate display is located in the operators' room. Master controller cyclically polls slave controllers (Siemens Simatic S7-224) in the wells, that transmit information about status of the sensors and executing mechanisms to computer at the operators control point (station) via radio modems. A visualization program WinCC is installed in computer at the operators' center. It shows common status of the water supply system in real time, performs data archiving (collection) and supervises emergency conditions. Control of the water supply and drainage system, selection of wells, setting of priorities as well as disconnection of the wells also could be made via WinCC program.

You may graphically observe, whether current situation of the well pressure and level values, or information about any period of time when using archived files:
During operation of the given automatic system you may receive alarms and warnings.
When warning or alarm appears the corresponding executing mechanism or unit is colored in red. Apart from that, list of alarms and warnings is accordingly supplemented with new signals. Above-mentioned signals list could be observed under column "Alarm signals". Alarms appear in red and warnings in yellow color. If cause of the alarm or warning is averted or removed then they will be colored in gray color. Signal could be removed from the current list by using virtual button "Acknowledgment".
In each list of alarms or warnings shows type of the signal, from which well does it comes, time when the signal has appeared, time when it was confirmed and time when the cause has been averted.

Practical benefit of such system implementation is that shift operator by observing situation in wells on display reports to electrician or other shift specialists about the found faults. Thus it is possible to operatively solve the occurred problem, including not only technical problems, but also, for example unapproved well door forcing. By analyzing data it is possible to detect section of the line with potential drain damage, obstruction or other failure. By utilizing archived information it is also possible to find unapproved taking of water.
